Javascript timer not working?

Postby JeDi » Mon Nov 30, 2009 11:11 am

Hi,

We are developing a media sharing demonstrator, so I hacked together a web page that loads a MediaRSS feed and displays an image full-window. When a user clicks on the image, a javascript function queries the next image and the current slide is pushed to the server and stored in a database.

There is a javascript timer (using window.setTimeout) that queries (using XmlHttpRequest) the current slide each second, and updates the client image if necessary. This way we created a very simple collaborative slideshow.

This works in all browsers (including Chrome), but in our 3D application using Navi, the image never changes. When the application starts however, the correct image is displayed. So the javascript function getting the current slide seems to be working, but the timer doesn't.

Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance!

Greetz,
JeDi

Edit: For your information, this is the site: http://mediasharing.edm.uhasselt.be/Sli ... haringTest. I am working on it as we speak, so it could break...
Edit 2: When looking at the Awesomium log, it sais "Javascript Error in at line 1: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'style' of null". Could that be the cause? I am not using stylesheets or style attributes in the website at all.
